Ready, Set, GO!

I did it! Tonight I began writing my second novel. I've been mired in research for months, but hadn't yet written a word. I finally decided to take the plunge, and now I'm happy to say the first 324 words--more than a page!--of the novel whose working title is Fontainebleau (FB for short) actually exist. Can you tell I'm excited? Now if I could only figure out how to install one of those nifty progress bars...anyone have a suggestion where to find one?

Pace yourself, your progress will be measured in WORDS not progress bars!! Besides that way when you decide to rewrite part of it (it's possible!!)you won't have to figure out how to scoot the little bar backwards! I'm so happy for ya!! Rooting for ya!! Praying for ya!! AND I noticed after writing those ground breaking pages, you still had the pep to get on and let your readers know, now that's a true author, although I'm starting to wonder if you've ever considered a career in journalism? I really meant what I said about enjoying the interview and just your blog entries in general, very insightful too! BUT that doesn't mean you'd be allowed to not write novels!! I'd expect both...for that matter you are doing both right now! Overachiver :)Again, just an opinion from a reader, not a writer. Anyway, as always, your friend, Renee

Congratulations, Julianne! Sending you all best writing wishes and vibes.

For progress bars, check out the NaNoWriMo(sp?) website. I'm sure you can find them other places, too, but that's where I found them when I was thinking of installing one.

Thanks for all the support! Now its up to you all to remind me of my initial enthusiasm when I'm bogged down in the middle of the book and wondering why I ever chose this career. :)

Cindy--why envious? I wish I were in your shoes, doing my pre-publication revisions. Up for a trade? :)
